 Which way to go?

In the exciting Book of Acts we see the Good News of Jesus Christ spreading out, and in Acts 16:9-15 we discover how Paul is directed to the Western World.

The Holy Spirit’s guidance is very much in evidence, which changes the course Paul had originally in his own mind!

God’s Spirit leads us in different ways!  Perhaps through Scripture, or a word spoken directly into the mind; perhaps a feeling and the new decision giving peace from God.  In our Reading… a dream.

When seeking God’s will we need to make sure our plan is in harmony with His Word, check our own motives, pray to ask Him to open and close the doors of circumstances and also to consult with mature Christians.  The Holy Spirit guides us to the right places, but also from the wrong places.

Christians are empowered by God’s Spirit, bringing us to life and enabling us to do His work.  In John’s Gospel, Jesus likens the Holy Spirit to the wind, and a dove, and in Acts the Holy Spirit manifests as wind and fire.

The Holy Spirit teaches, directs, guides, comforts, and influences us, as well as producing in us the fruit of the Spirit.  He provides the intimate connection between God and His children.  All true believers in Christ have the Spirit residing in their hearts.

The Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23): love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

May we all know and understand the infilling of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  To be blessed and be a blessing to others.
